What do HTC expect. The release an apparent windows mobile 6.1 / performance update though only for HTC branded devices. Considering they sell most of their devices, certainly the Kaiser through operators (around 80% of Kaisers) meaning the vast majority of their consumers will not be supported or get device updates. Secondly the HTC base ROM 6.0 and the new 6.1 ROM are full of issues. This means Kaiser users are unable to depend upon HTCs shabby customer support and update service and instead depend on the ROM cookers over on sites such as xda-developers. HTC should sack the vast majority of their developers and hire just a few of these guys and customer satisfaction would improve dastically. These ROM cookers and the support on xda-developers making owning an underperforming, over hyped, misadvertised device such as the Kaiser tolerable and these guys deserve a slice of HTCs large profits. If HTC don't like it then let them sue!

I must say HTC benefits a lot by having a strong community at XDA. I have bought my first smartphone, the imate JASJAM (HTC tyTN) from Telstra and I don't really expect much support from Telstra. i-mate is a bit better. Still I rely a lot on XDA as I learn about smart phone on WM and use their ROMs over the year. I will buy another smart phone later this year and having XDA as a resource makes me lean more towards another HTC phone rather than the Sony X1.

I say we all sugar-cube the HTC logo off all our devices, then get someone to design and silkscreen a cool, professional-looking XDA logo.

XDA FTW!
