It is annoying when manufacturers always cramped more and more megapixels into their camera when they should focus on improving the optics and reduce the noise as a first priority. More pixels doesn't equate to better photos. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

I agree with your point however more screen pixels which I think we are talking about here means a crisper clearer display for viewing, as in VGA against QVGA _________________ Chris

A vga or svga output would be much more benefical. Whats the point in having a vga screen if you cannot see it in direct sunlight. There are many features that determine the quality of the screen, eg materials (glass or plastic), viewing angles, algorithms to handle dark and greys, drivers etc etc. To focus on one statistic to determine screen qualtiy is not a good reflection of the quality. Increasing resolution on a small screen has less of an impact the higher the res. For example take a camera, somebody taking holiday snaps with a 10 megapixel camera with not notice the difference between snaps taken at 7 megapixel camera when they are printed out at normal 7" photo size.
QVGA is fine, I would much rather have a screen I could see in direct sunlight. |

What the hell means "kind of" launched ? Is this the Newspeak made in Korea (or made by msmobiles.com) ?
A rocket is also launched. Would anyone use the term "This rocket has been kind of launched" ? Ridiculous.
Fact is that the Omnia is - unfortunately - also not yet available in Asia (where it had been *presented* officially, maybe this is meant here by "kind of launched" ?) and the WM 6.1 OS on the prototype is probably not yet the final version.
Also here in Europe it won't be available before end of July, maybe beginning of August, earliest.
I am very critical about Apple's iPhone.
But you can definitely not criticize Apple's policy of "launching" new hardware, because if something is announced for week xy, it is also launched in week xy.
More manufacturers shall stick to such a policy as anything else is nothing more than designed to frustrate possible customers and not bringing any additional real revenues to the company.
Only apparent downside of the Omnia is that it's another WM phone not using a Xenon flash for its hires camera.
Anyone who has used the cam of e.g. Nokia N82 knows what I'm talking about.
If anyone can give me the address of a distributor, already offering this "kind of launched" phone, pls drop me a line here. |
