| At last. A million thanks to the competition like Apple that forced HTC to consider reducing their prices. |

This is disengenuious. With the new iphone on o2 a £35 a month, 18 month contract will get you an 8gb iphone for £99. This includes unlimited free data, unlimited use of all O2s access points. the iphone will also be availble as pay and go.

the same £35 a month, 18 month contract on o2. The phone costs £89.99 but does not include any data or access to O2s access points.
At £45 a month the iphone is free however the Kaiser is still £49.99. |

Dean,
There are no known issues with the Touch Pro, but I agree with paying a rediculous price for the devices.
These companies need to reign in their pricetags, it is getting outrageous. If I did not know any better, I would think that these devices were made by drug companies!
Edward, you are off about your comments regarding the pricing difference between WM phones and the iPhone. Here in the US the pricing is the same if not cheaper than most WM phones and the requirements for a 2 year contract is accross the board for ALL subsidized phones iPhone, WM, BB and the like. I am not sure how it is in UK, but your claim does not stand correct in the US. _________________ Ignoring Troll Behavior in Pursuit of Deterring Disinformation and Off-Topic, Antagonism.

For phones running Windows Mobile Professional I currently only see two available from AT&T (I am excluding refurbished phones). The Windows Mobile Professional phones start off at 199USD for the Palm Treo 750 (after mail in rebate) and 299USD for the AT&T Tilt.
That comparison could be expanded to included the service fees/tariffs to get a better picture of the total cost of ownership. The unlimited voice plan for one of these phones is 99USD. Unlimited messaging plan (which includes data and text) is 50USD. So you would be looking at a minimum of 199USD+149USD/Month for unlimited service. I'm not familiar with AT&T's proposed tariffs for the iPhone so I am not sure if 149 USD is higher or lower than the amount onw would pay for unlimited voice, text, and data on the iPhone. If some one could fill in that data then we could have a more complete price comparison.
(presently 100 USD = 65 EURO = 51GBP ) |

The price drop may be due to more competition. But it is also true that price will drop for exisitng models when new models are being announced. That is to be expected in the consumer electronics world. I would have thought the price should drop further. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |
