| Well, six months is more or less the end of 2008, so nothing new and exciting there. As far as multitouch on WM device such as smart phone? I would say it is more of a luxury than a necessity. I would prefer WM to be more finger friendly, and better optimized for one hand use. As far as multitouch, it is nice to have option. And Please, make this OS more stable! |

Why do we need multi-touch? It seems pretty gimicky to me.
It's obviously not necessary for a keyboard since you're only going to be pressing one button at a time. The only function it serves on the iPhone is the pinch-zooming feature, which is pretty much impossible to use if you're trying to do things one-handedly. The zoom function on the Diamond was well-implemented using clockwise/counterclockwise circular gestures.
Multi-touch seems to encourage and require two-handed undivided-attention usage, which is definitely not what I want on a mobile phone. I want one-handed usage so that I can multi-task. |

They have IE6 running on Windows CE 6 already (the current version of Windows Mobile is based off of Windows CE 5.2). I've got no doubt they can make it functional. But I question how usable that will be on one of the smaller Windows Mobile Standard screens. _________________ MCAD .Net , MCTS (Web, Windows) |

multitouch is more natural because in real life we use our hands as multitouch, so it is "must have" in long term in any device and in any touchscreen. |

Walking with your feet is more natural in real life than driving a car.
Finger painting on the walls of caves is more natural than painting the ceilings of the Sistine chapel with brushes and scaffolding.
Maybe driving a car should require the driver and passengers to walk on a treadmill?
The whole point of one-handed usability in mobile devices is about having a technologically advanced and highly efficient tool. I can't really see how implementing a caveman-like user interface can be considered essential since it obviously reduces user efficiency. |
