Why are we talking about multi-touch which is a feature, when we should be talking about user benefits, if any. I think the Apple marketing is doing very well indeed. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

| To get a large screen and keep the dimensions small, you need to get rid of the buttons. To get rid of the buttons without compromising the functionality, you need to have an appropriate GUI. For such a GUI to function smoothly without taxing excessively the resources of the system, you need an appopriate OS (Multitouch can also help because such screens can "register" more commands than single-touch screens - and is far more responsive). Bottom line: it is not HTC's fault that screens in ppc's ended up being small. It's MS's. The solution is not in the hardware. It is in the software... |

Do not many of HTC's QVGA also use 2.8 inch screens? _________________ MCAD .Net , MCTS (Web, Windows) |

"Conclusion: if you need Windows Mobile phone with big display then Samsung Omnia is coming next month already! It is a pity that HTC Touch Diamond has small display (only 2.8 inch) but in all other respects it is a worthwhile phone."
you actually see less stuffs with that QVGA junk on Samsung Omnia!
is it better to see with 1 eye (seeing less stuffs) then seeing with both eyes? |

Omnia has 240x400 so more than QVGA which is 240x320

One size doesn't fit all. Smaller guy (like me) or girl may prefer a smaller phone (meaning smaller screen) to carry around. Larger guy with larger finger would be happy with larger phone and larger screen.
Perhaps phones should be like fashion, and have S, M L sizes for all to choose. Then eveyone would be happy. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

| I was playing with an omnia for around a week. It was imported from singapore. It has the same touch wiz interface as the Samsung Tocco or F480 if you wanna see it. The screen is closer to a widescreen format and is much better than the standard 2:3 ratio. The device is also more responsive than the Diamond. Only downer is the poor performance of the screen in direct sunlight, similar to the diamond. |
