"Safari for Windows Mobile released"
...it just me or are the headlines getting worse?
Seriously, stop saying things that aren't true in the headlines!
The Iris browser has been around for a while already, and granted the latest version is nice, but it's certainly not Safari. Apple did not make it, and to call it "Safari for Windows Mobile" is to credit Apple for it.
Please, phrase your headlines to give information on what's true. If you wanna say "it's like safari for windows mobile" in the article, fine, but don't draw people in with this type of headline. It's annoying to say the least.
____
Anyway, onto the topic, this browser is pretty CPU intensive as it's always been, so when loading some complex sites, both my 260mhz Blackjack II and my 624mhz HP hx2795 freeze for a while. However, it includes some pretty fancy and decent looking animations, along with a very powerful rendering engine (which appears to pass the ACID2 test, though not the ACID3 one very well at all).
All-in-all, it's a nice browser to have in case Opera Mini fails, but its still not going to be my primary browser. |

http://webkit.org/ is "Copyright (c) 2006 Apple Computer, Inc. All rights reserved." and it is an Apple's open source project. Apple did make it partially therefore!
So come on, both Iris and Safari use the same rendering engine - Webkit - so they both have the most important part - rendering - coming from the same common source.
Apple very much so is to credit therefore. |

But the point is, it's NOT Safari...
It's annoying to see these false headlines and it's bad reporting because it causes confusion and uncertainty. Please just try to stick to the facts! |

Yep, fine, credit Apple for it. It's still not Safari. WebKit is not Safari. Safari USES WebKit.
FireFox uses Mozilla.
Netscape Navigator used Mozilla.
Is(was) Netscape therefore Firefox?
No. They're different browsers.
But if you really want to use you're logic, look! Firefox for WM is out too! Skyfire renders with Mozilla!

Um, the S60 browser uses WebKit also. Is it Safari? I think not! This is shabby news! _________________ JNGold

MSmobiles.com has been using misleading headings from the past few weeks to draw reader's attention. One is easily swayed by these unreal headings |

That's it, I've had enough of this site.
News sites that plainly report lies and show favouritism in spades have no place in my browsing habits.
Delete my account if you want, I won't be using it anymore.
Idiot. |

dude, where else have you seen comparison of screenshot from Iris and from iPhone safari? msmobiles.com has some unique information - you must admit it - because we are going to events and trade shows and because we post various pieces of information that others simply don't publish.
so feel free to go but remember that it will be you who will lose - lose unique information... |

MsMobiles was not like that before. This site has a lot of readership. Why does the author feel the need to use a false headline to draw attention. I saw the headline and clicked into the article only to be somewhat disappointed by the content. It surely doesn't add credibility to the site. A more truthful title would be "WebKit-based web browser available for preview on Windows Mobile."
No matter how the author justifies the use of the word "Safari", clearly there is an intention to create extra interest by saying something untrue, and he knows it. Please be honest. |
