And indeed one can use 2 fingers to zoom-in/out on photos:
Which company has managed to achieve it?

If you like vitrual keyboard with pop-up key, then you can get it free at:
http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard2.php
It works very well on my Hermes. Haven't tried it on Diamond as I am quite happy with the HTC Diamond keyboard. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

but Diamond has no pop-up-s with letters so sometimes figners cover letters and one can't type quickly - how can you be satisfied with it? |

Should everyting in WM device be exactly like iPhone? If yes, wouldn't it be easier to get iPhone itself and be happy? |

I like it because I don't have to switch between the numbers and alphabet modes all the time. I can press and hold a letter key and it display something else like numbers. Very handy. I hope other virtual keyboards (and that include iPhone keyboard) that has pop-up would copy this feature from HTC. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

You can't copy the iphone's UI unless you have a GPU. Accellerated graphics is what makes its user interface so responsive and in turn, less frustrating compared to windows mobiles phones.
Microsoft need to spend less time improving the wait cursor animation and spend more time developing a GPU accelerated user interface framework with all the features devs need to make great looking apps, without having to spend months of effort making their apps look attractive, modern and usable. Windows mobile apps are a wash with shoddy iphone rip off uis that are flawed in so many ways, and all they offer users is more confusion through inconsistancy. _________________ WiFiFoFum Pocket PC Wardriving

While many of us (myself included) are confident that Windows Mobile 7 will be based on Windows CE 6.0 I don't think that Microsoft has offically stated much publically on Windows Mobile 7.
I've got a few Windows CE 6.0 developer's references in front of me and there's no mention of Multitouch. I'm inclined to think that the implementation in the device described in the article is something that was made by the manufacturer and not provided by Microsoft. But once again, this is speculation. _________________ MCAD .Net , MCTS (Web, Windows) |

| My HTC TyTN has touch screen, but I almost never use it. I prefer having 20 buttons to control my device, and using scroll wheel and directional pad, rather than cover my screen with a finger and leave smudges and streaks all over the screen. Lack of buttons, keyboard, and having to rely on touchscreen for everything is another reason I will not get the iPhone. Also, multitouch usally needs two hands (using one is awkward), which is very inconvenient when you're on the go and need to use one hand to hold the phone. So I don't really care if Windows Mobile 7 is multitouch or not. Tilt sensor and lots of buttons should be enough. |

It is silly to have to use 2 fingers (multitouch) when all I want is to zoom in a photo. I think the HTC implementation using 1 finger is more elegant. Why multi-touch (multi-fingers) when you can do it in one touch (one-finger).
The only time when I think Multi-touch makes sense is for a game like Piano keyboard. You would want be able to strike a note with 1, 2 or even more fingers. Of course, you wouldn't make real music on a tiny screen and without the pressure/velocity sensitivity of physical keys.
I would like to hear comments from others on when Multi-touch on a mobiel phone makes sense. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

I don't understand why manufacturers feel they need to blindly steal features from other manufacturers without first understanding those features' utility. _________________ good titles are misleading!
