At this point I think we need to get used to being last on the list and not included in global launches when it comes to mobile devices from companies that brand Windows Mobile devices. The market here is different and the technologies and bands are are fracturing. The 4 major carriers use different technologies (CDMA and GSM) and now the two major GSM carriers will use two different frequencies for 3G, and Cox Communications is entering the mobile market with yet another frequency (700MHz).
The end result of this fracturing is that if you make a 3G phone it has to be made to support the respective carrier's frequencies and technologies. Even though a phone may be GSM unlocked it is likely to still be technology locked or band locked (yes, I am making up those terms). Recall that at the initial launch of the diamond it would only function as a tri-band GSM phone instead of quad-band. So because of technology differences in the US some would be early adopters could not get the phone with the confidence that it would work for their area. _________________ MCAD .Net , MCTS (Web, Windows) |

I agree that not including USA in launches is stupid : USA is the biggest economy in the world and very important market. It is plain stupid to release phones for USA many months after the rest of the world... |
