It is hard to believe for us and we think that it is absolutely not true: new Internet Explorer (the one with full-PC-class rendering engine and Flash) is coming next year when it will be bundled with Windows Mobile...

the first time i agree with netboy Smile

you can not say that he lies!?!
lie = intentionally misleading.

what makes you sure it won't be available? maybe it will be? what speaks against a download from the MS website in form of a CAB or installer?

childish, really.

Something to consider here is what does this mean for you as an individual? I've got the AT&T Tilt (aka HTC TyTN). From what I understand AT&T is planning to retire the phone come OCtober. It's not clear to me if this means that they will not be approving updated firmware for it.

While it would be preferable for IE6 o exist as an XIP executable in ROM (such an executable will consume less RAM since it never needs to be loaded into RAM) but XIP executables must be part of the ROM image. Since I will probably never see an updated ROM for my phone I can only hope that IE6 is available as a standalone executable too.

I would prefer it, if you call him a lier if it is NOT released by then. But surely not earlier. And even then it would be wise to say he was "wrong". A lier knows that he lies. if Mr McDonough thinks the the release date is realistic, he is no XXXXXX lier!!!

get that in your little head, EJR. i dont call you a murder because i think you will someday kill somebody, even if you now think you wont.

if you, or this site, would have any intention to be taken serious, you wouldn't use the word "lie" in any of your posts.

Did Microsoft say it would be available on existing devices? Or that it would be available to everyone? All they said is that it would be available this year. That could be on new devices coming out by the end of the year, or just an upgrade on one or two of the newer devices.

That's kind of related to what I was talking about. If MSFT only makes it available as part of the OS image via a new build of Windows Mobile then many will be left out in the cold. But on the other hand if it is available to existing users only as an additional install then it will work but the existing users will miss out on the RAM savings that come with having it in the ROM as an XIP executable. Since my device just got the WM6.1 image a month ago and since AT&T is planning to retire the TyTn next month I am not optimistic that I will have an opportunity to get the application in ROM Sad
