HTC Touch HD no doubt is the best Windows Mobile phone of all times. While it is coming out in November 2008 (i.e. roughly in 1.5 months) some French people have already managed to test and review it!

Apple c...

Nice hardware, shame about the O/S.

(I'm not Windows Mobile bashing, I just wish MS would update it!)

Looks like the link to the french site has gone by bye

Nothing new! HTC and MsMobiles are also good at the lying game!

overall operation of the phone, including HTC Touch FLO 3D is fast and fluid, no problems with slowness

I believe you said the same thing to defend the HTC Diamond which still remains atrocious, stop defending HTC or do they secretly own MsMobiles Razz

Anyway: Early vids showing off the Touch HD in all its glory, point to random unresponsiveness being another FREE feature of the device! so as usual try one out before believing any companies marketing hype, because they all would sell their grandmothers for a quick buck, YouTube Video (in French): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eisadEADpwk

Nb. Agree with ‘indiekiduk’ the screen does look washed out compared to the iphnoe, so much for the ‘HD’ moniker..

Now, with HTC Touch HD not only higher resolution but also bigger display is coming to Windows Mobile

Windows Mobile already has devices that are not only higher resolution but also sport a bigger display than the iPhone. Take a look at the O2 Xda Flame, for instance.

The Flame has a 3.6" VGA screen, but the Touch HD has a larger 3.8" WVGA flush-mount glass screen that's much better for finger use and visual contrast.

The Flame is also much thicker than either the Touch HD or the iPhone- the HD is particularly impressive because it crams in much more than an iPhone into essentially the same form factor, which no Windows Mobile device has done before.

Anyone seeing the video, be sure to click "watch in high quality."

The screen, as they comment, is very impressive and definitely visually better than the iPhone's in terms of brightness, contrast, and color display (even if limited by WM's 65k colors).

And as for responsiveness, it's the most responsive Windows Mobile phone I've ever seen. Watch things like the accelerometer-driven rotations, or rendering in Opera- just a tad less smooth than an iPhone, but a heck of a lot better than any other WM device. To get better than this, you need a GPU-accelerated GUI, which we won't get till WM7.

Well Apple also lies about their battery life. And their crappy call quality, that the phone needs reboot all the time when you tried to switch between task rapidly. And the list goes on.... How do I know, I have a few colleagues who have jumped onto iPhone, like so many others and they have the the same story.

Are you referring to the photo. That would be simply because of the position of the phone. I bet you that if the 2 phones position are interchanged, you would see different result.

Have a look at the video and you can see for yourself the screen quality of the Touch HD. Surely no one can argue against its screen display quality by any objective means.
