While we were talking with Microsoft employees (we have it "on tape") at some conferences/trade shows, then we asked about tilt-sensor API (accelometer API) but they told us that Microsoft leaves it to manufacture...

Microsoft tends to add new APIs for popular peripherals in versions of Windows Mobile following the release of such peripherals. An example is the rear camera, some Windows Mobile 2003 devices had them but there was no standard API for accessing them until WM5.
