10-year Microsoft veterans are great for managerial purposes, but what Windows Mobile really needs is fresh leadership (possibly younger leaders) that are more in-tune with the use of mobile devices for activities outside the office place. WinMo is already a good work phone, but what it isn’t is a good everyday phone and I think very few would recommend it to their social friends and especially not their grandmothers.
I'm all for better synchronisation into the cloud, especially of settings, custom ringtones ..etc far beyond what’s available with Exchange/Calendar/Mail sync today.
But appointing the boss of Microsoft Exchange seems to indicate a WinMo business push over a consumer push.. Hopefully that’s not the case, but only time will tell.. |
