Recently we have video-reviewed upcoming Internet Explorer Mobile 6 and Adobe has just promised full Flash 10 for Windows Mobile so browsing experience will immensely improve in Windows Mobile over next few months.....

IE6 is the worst browser ever made. Ask any web developer.
Microsoft should be ashamed that they're bringing this turd to Windows Mobile. |

Agreed.
I'm a HTTP / mobile web browsing pro; have even lectured at W3C's mobile conferences so I pretty well know all the mobile platforms and all the Web browsers available – that is, I probably know this stuff far better than anyone at Gizmodo. See http://www.smartphonemag.com/cms/blogs/3/my_w3c_speech_on_multiplatform_mobile_we_1 for more info / my second W3C speech if interested.
I've been using Safari for quite long on my iPhone 3G and need to say it's, usability-wise, in many (but, of course, not all) respects, is really inferior to what is available on Windows Mobile (or, when it comes to Opera Mini, all other mobile platforms, including the BlackBerry and Symbian S60).
I plan to publish a huge "myth busting" article on all these things, explaining in plain English, illustrated with some screenshots, why I don't consider Safari to be superior to other Web browsers; for the time being, you're invited to check out the Safari-related section in my first iPhone article at http://www.smartphonemag.com/iphone/node/179 |

| I think your the one thats being unfair here. First and foremost Opera 9.5 is not availble to all windows mobile users unless they are prepared to install cooked ROMS and invalidate their warranty. |

While the engine itself is indeed really incapable (for example, Web standards compliance wise), with a decent add-on, IEM is actually much more usable, faster to for example quickly (!) browse to the bottom of a page or to go back to the previous pages etc. than Safari. And, it supports a lot of othe rgoodies like cut and paste and settable charsize. |

Microsoft should be ashamed that they're bringing this turd to Windows Mobile. | The article is about IE 6 for mobile , not the IE 6 for the desktop. Though MS shouldn't call it IE Mobile 6, it is confusing. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

I agree particularly IE Mobile 6 does NOT behave the same way in Google Docs as IE 6 - contrary to claims of Microsoft - as you can see in my review:
