Not only HTC is condescending by Twittering arrogant things like "if you're a lucky and own a Touch HD, you just got luckier. There's a hot fix to make your phone even more responsive" - as if releasing a fix...

| There is no chance of HTC fixing this issue. Everyone knows what happened witht he Kaiser and this clearly shows that HTC just keep screwing there customers over. The reason this happened on the Kasier was to avoid paying fees as the Kasier also had the required hardware. This completely justifies my stance on never buying another HTC device again just like many others. |

If one is not aware of it then is it really an issue? _________________ MCAD .Net , MCTS (Web, Windows) |

And was this Benchmark done with the new Graphical D3D drivers from the Diamond 2.0 test Rom?
Because the statement that HTC is not "Doing" anything at all seems to be not true, because there are new drivers for the Diamond.
But i wouldn't go into saying that these resolve everything or are better then the previous ones. |

HTC also claimed to fix the issues with the Kaiser yet not by including imageon drivers. The reality is HTC have to pay royalities to use certain functionality on processors. With the Kaiser HTC simply did not want to pay for that and palm us of with a fix that did some double buffering and in many ways performed worse. By releasing the Diamond they just hoped the Kaiser issue would disappear. However consumers sho went down this route where conned once again.
This very pro HTC site did not publish this information. But guess what I was justified in staying away from future HTC devices. I know a few companies who also avoid buying HTC devices. Maybe this is why Microsoft are using the iphone for graphics research.

This makes the claim that in some cases the OMAP 850 chipset produced in 2005 can outperform the diamond. |

Well this is interesting as I am not aware of the said issue, having had my Diamond for over 5 months now. Indeed I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to play H.264 videos natively on the Diamond video player as well as the WMP. H.264 being also the standard supported by Adobe Flash 9 or later, I reckon it has now won the war of the video codec. So I am very happy with my Diamond. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

| Haven't you repeatedly called these "the greatest Windows Mobile phones of all times?" Now you sound like a jilted fanboy. |

What do you mean play natively? I have an iphone and an Omnia that both play H.264. This has nothing todo with codecs but graphics performance. Not only does observing certain graphic intensive software but so do the benchmarks. Thankfully I went for the Omnia instead of the diamond which we now know to be certain, performs much better in the graphics department. If I was diamond owner I would be upset that a 3 year old device outperforms my device. As far as performance goes the diamond severely lacks behind. Once again the viral marketing machine that msmobiles is part of has deceived the WM consumer into thinking this deice performed well. I was justified in informing potential diamond customers of how biased the windows mobile websites and forums are. |

Playing natively means I do not have to install any additional third parties video codec for the phone to be able to play back H264 videos. Yes, it is all to do with the codec for without the codec, the phone would not be able to play the videos. The hardware power of the phone means it can play the video at up to a certain resolution and bitrate without frame dropping. And I can tell you that I work for a major US software company that sells a professional video production software so I know what I am talking about. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |
