I believe the source image (http://lh3.ggpht.com/_mFxJhJmMWXQ/SWefSQbOBBI/AAAAAAAAADk/IwNFHT3mEdI/s800/roadmap.PNG) to be old. My reasons for this are:
Azure and Oslo are missing any kind of branding (which I believe were first shown at PDC in October).
But most importantly, BizTalk Services has been renamed to .NET services some time ago (at least the beginning of November when I attended TechEd Barcelona).
So this is probably outdated info. |

What is taking MS so long you say? How about the fact that instead of being true innovators and releasing software upgrades in a timely and cost effective fashion for consumers, they are simply acting like true free market capitalists and just responding to the current (and very real) recession by holding back on anything new for this year until the market picks up (hopefully) by next year. Apple is playing the same game, case in point, lame offerings at MacWorld as well.
Don't kid yourself, the free market does not work to elevate humankind. It only works to stunt us and in some cases trounce on humankind. That is not to say that there are necessarilly better market designs in practice or that free market cannot work if properly regulated, however that would require a separation of business and state. (Good Luck with that one, lol.)
Anywho, I digress and getting back to the point MS, and Apple are just caught up in the whirlwind of a forseeably crapy economy. _________________ Ignoring Troll Behavior in Pursuit of Deterring Disinformation and Off-Topic, Antagonism.
