let's hope it's a quick, painless death. It's always sad when everyone sees it coming except the one dying. They're just never prepared.

so everyone repeat after me...

JUMP!

JUMP!

JUMP!

JUMP!

JUMP!

JUMP!

DIE ALREADY!!!

I read this and I yet again think back to the statement "Less Windows Mobile Devices."

I attribute it to their crappy products, ugly design, and non-existent customer support which won't result is MUCH less Windows Mobile devices. Their lack of sales is the reason the forums are going away and they let everyone go.

After HTC so wisely dumped them as an OEM, they went straight down.

EDIT: looks like someone's dumping inventory and if you're used to how poor HTC's support is, I certainly wouldn't expect it to get better when they no longer exist! :

eXpansys have let us know of two great deals on i-mate devices, namely the JAMA 101 and JAMA 201. For a limited time only they'll be offering the JAMA 101 for £89.99 (a saving of £100!) and the JAMA 201 for £99.99 (again a saving of £100!). These are great deals and won't last long so give the links below a click if you're looking for a new Windows Mobile phone.

i-mate had bought Momento Live digital photo frames some time back.

In October 2008, I bought two Momento 100 frames for my parents and wife's parents as Christmas gifts.

I went back and forth with tech support for months trying to get the frames to update from the MomentoLive.com website. Everytime I received the same canned response indicating the servers were down for maintenance.

I did some research and was able to find the CEO, Jim Morrison's email address, and explained my situation.

His response was rubbish.

"Memento frames and moment live services have be closed down, sorry for your problems."

He didn't even spell the product name correctly.

With leadership like this it's no wonder.

The email chain is below.

Mr. Morrison,

I have emailed tech support (techsupport@imate.com) back and forth 15 times, for well over 2 weeks now, and I consistently receive the same response. The Momento live servers are undergoing maintenance, and there is no expectation of when there will be a resolution.

I purchased two Momento 100 frames for my parents and my wife's parents. The frames are properly setup to work on their respective wireless networks, they have momentolive.com <http://momentolive.com> accounts setup with the frames registered, and have Internet feeds (RSS) added to the accounts. Everything is setup correctly, however the frames do not receive an update from the momentolive.com <http://momentolive.com> servers. These frames were gifts, and it is unfortunate that there are no photos of my newborn daughter, their first grandchild, displaying on the frames.

This brings me to why I write directly to you. I have live chatted with tech support and requested an escalation point of contact, and the conversation was terminated. I have emailed and requested an escalation point of contact, and the request was simply ignored. I would like to ask you to please help me. It is not possible to manually update the frame with an RSS feed. The only way to accomplish this is for the Momento live server to send the update.

Thanks,
XXXXXXX
(I am sending this email from my parents email account)

um.... what? Please tell me you're kidding. PLEASE.

Either way, iMate sure taught HTC a lesson, didn't they? Look how HTC did last year in sales compared to iMate.

They deserve to die. Why drag out the inevitable? Had they provided support on a brand new phone I purchased that had a known issue, I may feel a little differently. But they ignored all of my requests for help. I ended up throwing it away within 45 days of purchase.

LET.

THEM.

DIE...

had to throw it away because they wouldn't service it under warranty. 3 of the dialer buttons stopped working as well as the joystick. Both were heavily reported issues. They pretended it didn't exist as well as wouldn't even bother responding to emails, forum posts, or get back to me when I called and left a message. Look up the SP3i when you get a chance. This was my 2nd iMate purchase and the first one had issues as well.

I've never hoped a company would go out of business so bad...

Dear i-Mate, DIE! DIE! DIE!
