I seem to remember HP and a few others trying this smartbook thing out many years ago. It failed rather miserably. Personally, I want something small enough to be used as a phone, used one-handed, and that can fit into my pocket. Larger, laptop style things would be too cumbersome, and I might as well get a netbook if I need that. Then again, I never thought there'd be a market between laptop and PDAs, so maybe there's yet another market between netbooks and PDAs |

This form factor is actually precisely what I'd most want: a device that maybe pushes the limit for phone size (sorry, netboy! I know that's a pet peeve of yours!), but is smaller than a netbook. Something like the TG01, but with a QWERTY slider. And yes, a 1.3 GHz Snapdragon would make it even sweeter!
Oh yeah, and AMOLED!!! |
