no, nokia had some big sale in USA shortly before departure and that's why he fetched it as he needed phone and his htc diamond has not arrived yet back from service

Ahh, yes. That's right, I forgot about the GREAT service support from HTC that has his phone travelling all around the world while he is travelling too. lol

I so hope that Samsung releases Omnia Pro w/ US 3G!!

The digital compass could have many more applications than just in maps. For example augmented reality. Software like Wikitude AR already available on android should how this could be used as a virtual tour guide providing information about a site you point your phone at.

Then google have provided Star map, point it at the the sky and it tells you what your looking at.

The compass not only improves mapping or sat nav software but opens the door to this augmented reality software.
