windows phones are not for pansies like you! every phone has wm6.5 on xda-dev. we love windows phones because we can mod it beyond recognition unlike iphones, where steve jobs decides what color underwear i must wear!
stop whining like a fruitcake...and say something meaningful. even WM5.0 is way better than the iPhone, because the OS can really DO something unlike the iPhone.
Losers, seriously, all you guys! And msmobiles, supposedly a fckin winmo site punctually brings in all these kinds of useless rants against MS from all corners of the world.....go get urself a life! |

iPhone is the best smartphone on the planet now, point.
Windows Mobile has a lot of work to do yet, to catch up not only with iPhone but also with Android, Palm webOS and Nokia Maemo.
msmobiles tells how it is, without hiding stuff like some sites are doing, without sucking up to Microsoft. Thanks to this approach users and developers are better informed. If you want to stay ignorant, if you want to read only lies and half-truths then don't read msmobiles.com, please! |

I have used WinMo devices since?? well the first ones that came out. And I must say i agree / i have switched to iPhone and I do not look back.
I have bought a few WinMo & Symbian devices after getting my first iPhone mainly becuase I want / need a SIP phone with me.
So my history goes a bit like this:
1. Lots of WinMo / Symbian devices
2. iPhone 2G
3. Imate Ultimate 9502 - really crap phone back to
3. iPhone 2G
4. upgraded to iPhone 3G
5. Tried TyTN II - dismissed - bad audio quality and bad touch (still have it - will put android on it when that is "fully" implemented)
5. Tried X1, Tried Nokia N97 - sold both quickly again. Even tried xda builds on X1 to "enhance" the experience... but every time you hit the a button you are back in WinMo Gen1 calender or contact list or whatever app the X1 had not replaced.. Nokia N97 - well just a crap phone with no app's available.
6. back to iPhone 3G
7. Sold iPhone 3G. Lost only about 40% of what i paid for it IN A YEAR and a few months. With WinMo I have usually lost 60-70% of the value in a year plus.
8. Got 3GS and very happy..
minus - still no background applications like SIP...
rest is close to perfect! |

Don't EVER call the iPhone a smartphone. It's an ipod that makes phone calls and browses the web and has a bunch of time wasting apps.
There's nothing smart about not being able to cut, copy, and paste. There's nothing smart about all of the Exchange issues. There's nothing smart about Apple's dictator like control over the phone itself.
Regardless of how old Windows Mobile is, it's still better than the iPhone when it comes to being productive on your device. Unless of course you think playing fart apps is productive.

| While there is some relevance to the report re upgrades, expecting devices that can barely run WM 6xxx to be upgradable to 7 is foolish. With the rumoured chassis spec devices will be packing better hardware and the OS will be designed for upgradability so in theory the current situation should be a thing of the past. Of course, its up to the handset makers to provide upgrades and since they wont like that they cant sell new handsets if people just upgrade their OS on the old handset there may yet still be issues with upgrading your OS to a later version. Then of course there are the carriers who have their own axe to grind... |

I wonder if he will post what a toy the iPhone is when he gets to know it? Welcome to Steve's World! He's Large And In Charge!
Yeah, I can't run WM6 on my old (upgraded to WM5 from WM2003) device, but the hardware does change more quickly than the software OS.
And I doubt any G3 device will be upgradeable to G4 as the technology is totally different. So who thinks running WP7 or iPhone 4.7 or Android 4.4 on a a G3 device will be cutting edge and productive in a year or two? |

WM can still do things the others cannot. And who gives a crap about application stores when you can donate money directly to authors at PPC Geeks, XDA, etc. without a cut going to Steve or Steve? Pay for MSVC? Surely you jest!
iPhones are for people who ard challenged operating toasters. It is a subscription music player with a phone radio strapped on. At least the early WM devices were PPC with a radio strapped on.
If you can't see anything around you but the same other creatures running in one direction and your horizon is filled with another's butt hole, then chances are very good you are a lemming. |

| The iPhone is the overall best smartphone on the planet right now. Accept that then try and better it. By saying the iPhone is crap you just show your ignorance. |

Really? Is it? Well I have 3 x WM6.5 devices, an iPhone and an iPod touch, whereas you obviously only have a WM device. There are TONNES of great iPhone apps and they're astoundingly cheap.
A few years ago we were told how Windows' selling point over Mac was how much software it had. Funny how now the boot is on the other foot, the amount of apps on the iPhone is seen as a disadvantage!
I hope WM7 has backwards compatibility otherwise you'll be able to count the useful apps on one hand. |

You've openly admitted finally EJR!!! You're now officially "out of the closet". The next logical step is to shut down msmobiles.com and start an iphone fanboy site....
Hey look...theres a new app on the iPhone app store....i can drop a pink paint bucket using the accelerometer and color my screen pink randomly....so cool!

I agree with Edward and appreciate his honesty. Windows Mobile is finished. 6.5 came and went to negative press and no one cares anymore. Its behind iPhone, behind Android and Web O.S |

| The worst part of all this is the undeniable loyalty that Microsoft have gained from the Windows Mobile community and they continually feed them xxx, its sad beyond belief, I just watched the Engadget interview and when asked about Windows Mobile his main answer was that the Smartphone market was tiny compared with PC's, that sums it up, its not a big priority and boy does that shine through. |
