A very interesting interview with Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, has been published. Unlike most people who are reporting about Windows Mobile, we have met Peter Chou in person, talked to him one on one and even we were sh...

| Quote: | | The brutal truth is, if you are a Windows Mobile fan: only HD2 is worth buying. In 1-2 weeks it goes on sale in Europe and next year in USA. HD2 will start Windows Mobile revolution, a time when Windows Mobile will again have an exciting handset. |
That's is an opinion and not a very wide-reaching one. I find Windows Mobile to be the only mobile OS to offering most of what I need and the HD2 is NOT the handset I'll be buying - I'll get a Samsung Omnia B7610. I don't care about multitouch, it adds NOTHING to my usage (outlook, RDP mainly) and has a better camera (lens and sensor). |

I second that. First, I would not buy anything with capacitive screen, except for my printer. Second, there are better options for WM devices. and third, HD2 would mostly attract Apple fanboyz, who think they will look smarter with Windows device in hand. |

capacitive per se is nice, but it is different, not necessarily better. It is nice for UIs that are designed for it, but it prohibits small interactive items on screen. everything has to be at a decent size. I do like them, but I also like resistive screens. They both have their place and are different, not better than each other.
I opted for the acer because it is just as fast, has a decent size screen, is smaller, lighter and € 210,-- cheaper (depends on the deal you get). And it is available NOW. I can use all my mini USB accesoires (the HD2 has micro USB) and if it gets stolen, I can bu almost another one for the savings (ok, half of it at least).
maybe the HD2 is better in some regards, but the Acer is still superb, smaller, supports your stylus (there ARE people who like them, and there are Apps that work better with a stylus, period) and is cheap. There is room for both kinds of devices. |
