Excellent. Another example of this site's staggering ignorance of simple facts. BBC TWO is not a state-owned TV channel. The BBC is publicly owned, meaning that anyone who owns a television is a stakeholder in it, not just the Government.

In fact, the most important tenet of the BBC's existence is its independence from the State. Even to the most ill-educated, this fact was made spectacularly clear when the BBC stood against the Government in the UK's Hutton Inquiry, the details of which can be found on most respected news sites - for those who can be bothered to look, among whom I would obviously not include this site with its hilariously lazy approach to "reporting".

It beggars belief as to how you could make such an obvious error, although I shouldn't be surprised; there are dozens of examples of similar oversights dotted all over this site.
