The ROM version is a lower (i.e. older) number than my XV6600 and the date is only 4 days newer. Sounds to me like i-Mate is fixing some long overdue problems, not leading the pack in upgrades.

If you're talking about HTC, the company that makes the i-mate PDA2k / T-Mobile MDA III / O2 XDA III / QTEK 9090, then I'd agree. It seems like the ROM version that they initially ship always needs an upgrade.

ROM upgrades are made by HTC, given to the distributers to customise, who then pass them along to the end users. i-mate and Qtek have released ROM updates for their users for this device. O2 and T-Mobile haven't. Generally speaking, i-mate is the first one to release the newer ROMs and patches.

Can you compare ROM version numbers from different devices? Yours is a HTC Harrier, ... the PDA2k is HTC Blue Angel -- different hardware (radios) inside, etc.
