... will never be available in Europe, because it works only in superfast CDMA EV-DO phone network, not in GSM! And version of this phone for Europe - Samsun...

What kind of coverage does EV-DO have though? What percentage of the population does it cover?

Coverage for EV-DO is not bad:

Reading further, they're aiming for 50% by the end of the year.

Compare that to 3 in the UK who had 70% W-CDMA coverage by the beginning of this year.

Give me European 3G access any day.

Hi

Does 3 not just offer 'walled garden' internet access? I know thats all it used to offer. Hardly much cop when you cant go where you want, and still have to pay through the nose for it.

All you can eat unrestricted internet access @ 384K/sec for < EUR40/month might see 3G take off in europe, but what you get in reality is sh1te service for far too much money.

I need no fancy services, no nothing, just one thing: flat rate unlimited unrestricted mobile Internet access. Nowadays with best tariffs it is this stupid term "fair use flat rate" which is limited to 500 MB or to 1GB monthly. What a scam! USA is indeed much more advanced than whole flipping Europe...
