HTC Wizard is coming! Interestingly it has processor for Texas Instruments, not from Intel!
At last, for the first time ever real photos of HTC Wizard are available and thus "rumor phase" is over! The HTC Wizar...

thank you very much! I have corrected it instantly.
By the way: HTC Wizard is great but the slow processor puts me off... |

| What is the qtek smartphone in the picture with all four phones? It looks sort of like an 8100. |

They still did not fix the design 'flaw'!!!
The d-pad is on the right side. This means that the majority of right handed users will hold the stylus with their right hand and press the d-pad with their right hands as well.
Standard landscape mode brings the d-pad on the left side.
But of course who needs a stylus when the keyboard is extended. I guess they are replicating a PC keyboard there the arrow keys (equivalent of the d-pad) is on the right side. |

Not very soon. HTC is manufacturing HP iPAQ 6500 series for HP so clearly it wouldn't release a unit with built-in GPS not to compete with HP. |

There was some talk about the processor on another forum, I think it was either xda-developers or pocketpcthoughts.
The general feeling was that the speeds listed are not an important indicator of capability. The discussion became quite technical, but the basic outcome was that this processor will be as fast or faster than in the previous models, but also be a lot more power efficient. As with all pocketpc's there are so many small factors, that until an unbiased opinion is posted by a respected forum member, the model can not be judged by specifications alone.
My feeling was the general what how slow??? until I read this, however a company like HTC who are going from strength to strength and slowly gaining a good market share, are not going to stick a processor in an evolutionary piece of hardware that is of less power than previous models. I think we will be nicely surprised. Add that to persistent storage and secondary or oversized batteries may become unused by most.

it all boils down to binary information: yes or no - to question "is it possible to make Skype voice calls with HTC Wizard over Wi-Fi?". If answer is yes, then 200 MHz processor is OK despite Skype claiming that minimum required for this is 400 MHz... |

Skype use does not make or break the success of a device. |

I got a chance to try English version of this phone with skype. Surprisingly, Skype works fine on this phone with echo cancellation option off. For other language version, I guess skype may not work as well. Usually english version windows mobile get the best performance.
I guess skype improve their software to make the processor requirement
lower and the improvement of HTC driver performance may both be the reason to make it work.

Generaly the phone runs quite well and I haven't noticed a lot of slowness on it yet. Only a few places and for the moment, I assume this is because the model is still a sample and the ROM is in a beta stage. _________________ Alexander Dreyer Johnsen
