The new card is smaller but clearly is still protruding (sticking out) because it is needed to have some antenna space for reception:



Unfortunately no drivers for MS Smartphone - just for Pocket PC - but sinc...

The Spectec one seems about the same. Spectec also has a miniSD vesrion with smart phone support.
