Despite having slow processor, it appears to be better than it seemed at first...

I am more angry about lack of Bluetooth network access profile - I have Bluetooth LAN access points (they're very cheap) and would not be able to use them.

I'm more angry about the miscommunicated date of availability as the first week of September. SDD broke news, msmobiles posted it, I relayed it over to HowardForums, and the whole preordering, lack of SDD response, followed by "we acted in good faith, but it's likely October all along... want your deposit back?" saga began from there.

Seriously, now... what's the holdup, now that the MDA Pro/HTC Universal has made its debut?

I wonder if this means we can expect Bluetooth 2.0 to be on the HTC Apache? Question

What is the deal with Bluetooth

From my research

Bluetooth V1.1 does not support Stereo Headphones
Bluetooth V1.2 does support Stereo headphones - but there are no drivers
Bluetooth v2.0 does support Stereo headphones - but there are no drivers

I'm beginning to think this will never happen, although I was in a shop the other day and saw a MSI MP3 player with bluetooth built in for headphones.

yes, it will because it has both HandsFree and Headset profiles. Some phones have only one of them and thus have problems.

Or simply put it like this:
Microsoft Bluetooth Stack: Bloody minimalistic xxx stack with no A2DP, no network profile, etcc
Widcomm/Broadcomm Bluetooth Stack: A2DP, network, audio gateway, etc..

Conclusion:
Don't buy a device with MS Blutooth Stack if you want A2DP!!!! I won't!!!

Rainer

I agree. Having Bluetooth stack from WIDCOMM simplifies life very much!

If I remember well, on the Qtek 9090, it was a Widcomm stack.. but anyway, I know you can buy a widcomm/broadcomm stack to install on pocket PC and smartphone to replace to MS Stack..

Once again another clueless MSMobiles post claiming the 200MHz OMAP processor on the Wizard is slow when benchmark tests show it to outperform a 500Mhz XScale processor. Too bad this site is more interested in opinion than facts.

Hi Kupe,

I was quite intrigued by what you said. Can you give me a link to where it talks about the Wizard's 200Mhz OMAP processor being faster than the 500Mhz Xscale processor?

I would really like to read it.

Regards,
Docc.
