Well, Apple and Linus Torvalds did the same thing too, but in a slightly less predatory fashion. While Microsoft may not be inherently evil (although Steve Ballmer's recently documented rage-fests might prove otherwise), their loyalty lies solely with their stockholders, not the customers. |

I don't agree and please note that Windows Mobile team at Microsoft is more customer oriented than the rest of Microsoft. Particularly carriers/operators and hardware manufacturers are perceived by Microsoft people as important corporate customers! |

A smartphone in every pocket? So that's two if I wear a regular pair of trousers. What if I wear shorts without pockets? Do I have to wear the same thing every day to make sure I never have to shell out for phones that I'll never use? |

Of course Microsoft is nice to them. At least for now Microsoft is a very small fish in a very huge pond. They'll get doors slammed in their faces if they portray their usual arrogant attitude in the wireless phone market. That's true, until their market share grows to a significant portion (as it inevitably will). At that point we can expect their already well-understood corporate culture begin it's classic slash-and-burn tactics in the cell phone business too. |

I hardly think every home has a computer, far from it. Unless you are talking affluent western households only. Perhaps there should have been "computer on every affluent westerners desk and in every affluent westerners home, too bad about the poor pricks" |
