palm is about as stupid as steve jobs and apple then - too ignorant and proud of their own brand to realize microsoft will dominate.

The reason why palm can't give up on the palm os, is because palm is so much better in low end applications. People like me willing to spend a thousand dollars on the jasjar or people willing to spend so much on the Treo demand the high end features of Windows mobile, but when you look at the sub $200 range, palm os still wins. You can pick up a palm for under $100, and you still can't do that with Windows Mobile even with Dell's awesome distribution. Under $250, palm has very little competition and if they were to make all their higher end handhelds Windows Mobile they would have a lot of trouble attracting the proper developers to their lower end devices.

For those reasons they can't move over to Windows Mobile completely.
