This week in Seattle area, USA, another yearly MVP summit takes place. MVP is an award being awarded mostly to "polite" (in the sense: uncritically Microsoft friendly), subdued people from community of fans of Mic...

yes, but I am more bitter about lack of innovation and about this negative innovation with ActiveSync over WiFi. |

i am also bitter. bitter for ms employees, that care more about stock options programs then about making their products smarter.
but i also know a hand full of mvp's and they are bitter too - because ms is not listening to them and therefore never gets the needs of the markets in their products!
cheers, lutz |

| Nice comming out, i too believe Ms needs to give more importance to customers and MVP recommendation. no more network in active sync is one more example... WM5 was a great chance to stand out but turned out to be just a reason to force a device upgrade for no reason.. still love my smt5600 |

Since when has Ed Hansberry considered "polite".........kidding...just kidding. It was just way too much for my weak feeble mind to resist.
Sorry Ed!

Would I like to be an MVP? Of course. A year ago I was one of the most prolific Contributing Editors at pocketnow, the #1 contributor at Pocket PC Thoughts (among the non-staffers), in the top 30 at several other Pocket PC sites and still run my own mildly popular Pocket PC site. I thought I would have made a decent MVP, too, but haven't been asked (and now I'm not as active as back then).
However, I'm not constantly complaining about that, and I'm certainly not bitter. I suggest you get over not being an MVP and stop bashing them. It won't help you become an MVP and makes you look bad.
Instead, focus on getting Microsoft to improve the system. I agree that removing ActiveSync WiFi is ridiculous, and it would be nice if a Windows Mobile device appeared as just another Mass Storage device. I have also produced a list of improvements for ActiveSync, but I don't think any of them has been done yet. If Microsoft isn't going to listen to its users or even its MVPs, what's the point?

Judging your statement by sheer facts: Since Microsoft employees are not getting stock options anymore for about two years now I can conclude that they now care alot about making smarter programs, can't I _________________ Cheers

....you can - if you can show me something SMARTER
i was more talking about the so called "optionsleichen", people, that are in the company for years, lost their ear on the market by just polishing powerpoints and brownnosing their bosses to get another year of stock options program until they are able to pay the bank for the house they've build for the family. believe it or not but i know enough of those guys personally.
cheers, lutz |
