Why Microsoft still does not get it (Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC phones)
July 17, 2003 [Pocket PC phone] | By anonymous 1.
PPCW.Net runs
a series of articles with screenshots
about Windows Mobile 2003 for
Pocket PC. Unfortunately also in the new version of
the operating system for Pocket PC phones and PDAs
the
battery
indicator in the title bar is still not available
(and no reliable 3rd party add-on is doing it right).
This error could be forgiven for ordinary PDA, but for
a cell phone it can be considered as another
cardinal error
caused by complacency and incompetence of Microsoft.
So users of upcoming xda II, that will run Windows
Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Phone Edition will not be
able to see battery status in the title bar!!! They
will need to go to control panel and click on
the battery icon. xda II will be a superb cell phone
(Xscale 400 MHz processor, built-in camera, Wi-Fi
and Bluetooth available as SDIO cards),
but such details like lack of battery icon in title
bar can spoil the fun.
