Barronīs Online writes: "HOW CAN I GET STREAMING REAL-TIME QUOTES on my Palm Pilot or other hand-held device?" queried Michael Cosman, a reader of this column. After a couple of hours of searching for the answer, it seemed to be, "You canīt." So we posed the question to 17 online brokers frequently reviewed in Barronīs, plus four data providers. The unanimous response: "You canīt, at least not now." There is, however, an Austin-based company called HillCast Technologies that is publishing an inexpensive program that runs on a wide variety of hand-held devices that can enable them to provide streaming real-time quotes. MidCast users can receive streaming real-time financial quotes and details, view charts and graphs, and obtain news articles on their wireless Java phones, RIM BlackBerry devices, Palm-powered devices and Windows-powered Pocket PCs and Smartphones .
