Orange repudiates rumors about SPV2 August 13, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. It will not be released in September 2003 and it will not have features as those mentioned in rumors:
(photo of "SPV2") Declining to comment on the expected availability of the SPV2, Orange spokesman Stuart Jackson would only admit to much of the information posted online concerning the SPV2 - and particularly so its launch date - being incorrect and that it will shortly be subject to removal. For more info on this topic from Norwegian enthusiast web site InfoSync click here. Please note however, that web page about SPV2 at Orange France is was still online by today! It was available here. The guys from InfoSync on purpose (initially) "forgotten" to mention this URL of course - they hide information sources to pretend having exclusivity and they also present not-their own photos - taken from web sites of vendors - in their faked "reviews". Example of this hiding is for example this sentence A Motorola spokesperson confirmed that the V700 smartphone is indeed under development as an ODM product, however declined to comment on its specifications citing the possibility of features changing prior to launch. (see here) that is presented by them as a fact and no source is indicated although serious publications as WSJ.com said something else (see here for more on this topic). In other words: InfoSync cannot be treated as official source and we should look at this information with a distance. The fact of the matter is that this single web page at Orange France cannot be considered as reliable source of information and still features of SPV2 may be different than those mentioned in rumors at various web sites and newsgroups. One is for sure: SPV2 will have built-in camera, but any other details, including Bluetooth, are not clear.
