MiTAC smartphone sucks August 14, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. ... say the users: All in all you have to say that it sucks. Itīs like buying a car and canīt refillig the tank because of the manufacturer did not approve the gasoline station for his car. What would you do in this case? probably not buying this car, right?... Itīs pretty obviouse that all provider specific signed software only runs on the phones of the provider (Orange by now) and other 3rd party code signed stuff runs on all application locked phones (with limitations too). Below is a short review of what works and what does not work with MiTAC smartphone. Orange SD-Card Software: All Explorer, Developer One Codewallet Pro, Ilium Software Dockware, IA Album 1.5, Listpro, Rebound = no (all Signed by Orange Unprivileged PCA) Non working but signed appz/games All Explorer Full = no (Signed by Orange Unprivileged PCA) Orange Mobile Mail = no (Signed by Orange Unprivileged PCA) SMS Tools = no (Signed by Orange Unprivileged PCA) WebWapSelect v1.1 = no (Signed by Twyx Certificat) Pocket Scumm = no (Signed by Arisme Dev Certificate) Bounty Hunter (Microsoft) Pinball = no (Signed by ROOT CAB Test) Hexacto Full Hand Casino = no (Signed by Orange Unprivileged PCA) Xen Games Interstellar Flames = no (Signed by Orangeworld Privileged Trust) Hexacto Slurp = no (Signed by Orange Unprivileged PCA) Tennis Addicts = no (Signed by Orange Unprivileged PCA) IA Album = no (canīt find the signature source!) All-Locations GPRS Traffic Counter = no (canīt find the signature source!) MadBeetle Clock Plugin = no (Signed by Geo Trust) Working appz/games Digital Concepts Motocross Stunt Racer = WORKS (canīt find the signature source! anyway unplayable because of controls and the higher processor speed...)
