Writing software with .NET technologies (C# and Visual Basic .NET) is fun and easy! With .NET you can easily write applications for desktop PC that communicate with your Windows CE based device! So you can write with .NET applications that are running inside of your device and applications that run in your PC!

The Desktop.Communication Library contains classes used for communicating with a CE device from a PC such as Microsoft´s Remote API (RAPI).

By the way overview of .NET Compact Framework availability among various Microsoft powered cell phones follows.

Please note however that although .NET Compact Framework is not available for Smartphone 2002 at all, you can still use this library to access it from PC!

With this library you can write applications for desktop PC that are communicating with Windows CE devices like for example Microsoft smartphone or Pocket PC phone! Some possible operations are:

browse files on the CE device
Connect synchronously to the remote device
Copy a device file to the connected PC
Copy an existing device file to a new device file
Copy a PC file to a connected device
... more operations on files and directories
Disconnect
accessing registry of the CE device from PC

Example application available for this library is a C# sample showing how to copy files from and to the device as well as connecting synchronously and asynchronously.
