Doberman BMS for SmartPhone by Golden Crater Software released September 11, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. This application for SmartPhone is a part of the extensive security system based on X10 (a technology for remote control and monitoring for purpose of the home automation) ... The Doberman software comes in three parts. The first part is the interface that allows you to build a floor plan to visually represent your house and build Action Spiders. The real work takes place in the epAssist plugin. This plugin has no interface itself, but it uses epAssists' ability to work with the X10 modules and epAssists' ability to send email. The third part are the client applications -- these programs allow you to interact with your house using a desktop or WindowsCE device. There are also two modes to arm or disarm your system. External and internal. Internal arming means you enter the dwelling, Doberman senses you and turns on a light. Using the remote control pad taped to the wall, you would enter your code (ie. 5 on, 9 off, 6 on.) within the specified time to disarm the system. External arming means you would carry a key chain remote with you. You would stand at the door, enter your code, and Doberman would blink a light on/off to let you know it accepted the code, now you enter the dwelling (alarm is immediate in external mode) Doberman can be as simple as one motion sensor, one RF transceiver module, one remote keypad, and one computer module. Or you can use X10 Powerflash modules connected to magnetic door switches, smoke alarms, and other devices. Doberman requires epAssist to function. epAssist (freeware version) comes with the Doberman install. If you do not wish to use any extra epAssist functionality, you may disable both the email and desktop toolbar interfaces. Registered users of Doberman are provided a registration key for epAssist as part of Doberman registration. To buy this program (for $25) click here.
