Amateurish smartphone marketing at MiTAC: copy and paste from audio CD cover to smartphone box October 16, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. Leigh Geary from CoolSmartphone.com is one heck of an observant guy. He noticed that MiTAC amateurishly has copied an image for marketing purposes from a cover of audio CD. Here you can see it:
... where to the left you can observe the cover of the audio CD and to the right there is a box in which MiTAC 8380 is being sold. What amateurish marketing it is!? With such partners like MiTAC Microsoft truly can have problems to reach significant market share in cell phone industry. First MiTAC screwed security configuration up (not all programs run in Mio 8380, even many properly code signed donīt run) and now it comes out that they have amateurish marketing. Moreover Leigh writes: Whilst watching the usual evening TV here in the UK an advert popped on the screen that caught my eye. It was selling the latest crappy compilation CD, based on the fact that all the songs were ones you could sing along to. In fact, songs youīve probably used a hairbrush to sing into whilst dancing around the house.... hence the title of the CD - "Hairbrush Divas" Iīm not going to start shouting "Copyright Infringement" or anything, īcus it could just be a stock image from the Internet somewhere that MiTAC and the CD people have both picked up... but it is very interesting..
