Microsoft Smartphone is a wireless Java benchmark winner
October 18, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1.

As you can observe here the Dopod 515 (a Microsoft smartphone running Smartphone 2003 OS) is running wireless Java faster than any other cell phone, faster even than Symbian phones!

We don't know which Java Virtual Machine for Microsoft smartphone was used in this benchmark but we can guess, that it could be WebSphere ME from IBM (click here to read more about this JVM).

Please note, that latest Microsoft smartphones like Dopod 515 or Orange SPV E200 not only are able to run Java programs, but they also are able to run .NET programs (both .NET and Java are "managed code"). However no Symbian phones can run .NET programs, what makes Microsoft smartphone clearly a better choice, with wider possibilities.
