PocketTV 0.10.15 has just been released October 31, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. While standard Windows Media Player cannot play MPEG movies back, the PocketTV application allows just that. And now you can capture and email JPEG images from MPEG movies, directly from PocketTV.
(on picture above: PocketTV running inside of Microsoft smartphone and playing back the movie "Matrix Revolutions") PocketTV can now capture and save save images from the video in JPEG format (.jpg), using the "Save Image" command. On Pocket PC, this command is in the main menu. On Smartphone, this command is mapped on "9". PocketTV can now send captured JPEG images by email. JPEG images are small, so they will not need a lot of network bandwidth. PocketTV Classic 0.10.15 (freeware) can be downloaded from www.pockettv.com. Check out also relesae notes of the program here * * * * * Some general information about PocketTV program (it is available for MS Smartphone and for Pocket PC) follows. PocketTV can play any standard MPEG-1 video file (extension .mpg or .mpeg). PocketTV provides you with the unsurpased video and audio quality and many useful features not found in other video players. PocketTV is also capable of streaming MPEG video files using standard internet protocols such as http, provided that your device has a wireless network connection that supports the necessary bandwidth i.e. the bitrate of the MPEG file that you want to stream. * * * * * Please note: PocketTV can play back only MPEG-1 files. If you have MPEG-2 files (for example recorded from TV) then use FlaskMPEG (a freeware) to convert other formats to MPEG-1.
