Orange responds officially to rumors about withdrawal of Orange SPV E200, but is NOT AWARE OF PROBLEMS
November 26, 2003 [General] | By anonymous 1.

Fortunately (for community of fans of Microsoft smartphone) Orange denies our former news item about partial withdrawal of Orange SPV E200 phones from Orange shops - since we were the only "Internet news site" that reported about this issue (only we were mentioning withdrawing and only we used the expression "sending to the manufacturer", which Orange quotes), this is an indirect response to our publication, despite the fact that the answer was published first at MoDaCo (and later picked by other web sites)!

Orangeīs representative responsible for Microsoft smartphones writes:

Hi all - just wanted to update you on the official Orange response to those rumours about the SPV E200...

The SPV E200 is not being withdrawn from sale in the UK, contrary to reports on an Internet news site.

Orange is not aware of customer complaints regarding software faults, the phone has not been "sent back to the manufacturer" and there are no plans for a recall of the product.

Orange continues to market and sell the phone and looks forward to continued success with the SPV range.

Orange takes the posting of these false allegations very seriously and is currently considering whether to take any further action.

There you go!

Obviously, we are continually updating and improving on our products, so keep up the feedback.

Cheers!

Please note, that Orange above says that "Orange is not aware of customer complaints regarding software faults"! Now, after our publications we hope that Orange will become - at last - aware of these issues... in order to provide some corrections.

Our former news item about withdrawal was coming from several sources and was related to withdrawal of Orange SPV E200 in some Orange shops, but nonetheless in the view of above explanation it appears to be untruth - we have pulled it. We sincerely apologize all fans of Microsoft smartphone for misinforming them and we will be working hard to provide you with most accurate information in the future!

At least something good came out of this situation - now Orange has become aware of problems with Orange SPV E200 cell phone! ... example: if you buy a Bluetooth-enabled phone then you expect, that you will be able to connect over Bluetooth to Internet with this phone! ... however it is not working at all in many Bluetooth configurations with E200 (however Bluetooth headsets are working fine with this phone) ... so itīs not only an issue of poor cell phone battery life, but much, much more as you can observe here.
