A new Handheld Edition of the classic TRIVIAL PURSUIT board game is now available for play on both Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices. Handmark, the # 1 developer and publisher of software for mobile devices, together with Horn Abbot Ltd., owner of the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game, and Atari, Inc., one of the largest third-party publishers of interactive entertainment software in the U.S., today announced the availability of the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game as an online download from the Handmark web store www.handmark.com. This is the first official release of the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game in North America for new mobile devices.

The original TRIVIAL PURSUIT game started a trend in adult game play that continues today. The TRIVIAL PURSUIT game is one of the best-selling adult games in history, with more than 70 million units sold worldwide since its introduction in 1982.

Inspired by Atari´s upcoming version of the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game for video game consoles and PC, Handmark will bring another leading brand name to its expanding line of premier retail titles for handheld devices. Users of handheld mobile devices will be able to play the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game anywhere, against the computer or with friends using one or multiple handheld devices via Bluetooth wireless or IR (InfraRed) beaming.

The TRIVIAL PURSUIT Handheld Edition from Handmark plays like the classic board game, but with stunning hi-resolution graphics and animation. The product from Handmark supports the latest generation of mobile devices, including Palm OS PDAs and smartphones and Windows Mobile based Pocket PC, Pocket PC phone edition and smartphones.

"This is the perfect game for PDAs and smartphones," said Handmark marketing vice president Douglas Edwards. "The demographic of the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game players matches the new users of advanced PDAs and smartphones; and the question card is a great match to the screen size and format of these devices. The new Handmark versions animate game play and board movement that is easy to follow."

"We are very pleased to be working with Handmark to develop high-quality, branded entertainment content for mobile devices," commented Jim Ware, President of Horn Abbot Ltd., the original developers of the TRIVIAL PURSUIT board game. "Millions of people currently use PDA and smartphone devices, making this a logical step for the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game to reach both a new audience and the many people who have played the game during the past twenty years."

Availability of retail product The TRIVIAL PURSUIT Handheld Edition for the Palm OS PDAs and smartphones, and for Windows Mobile based Pocket PC, Pocket PC phone edition and smartphones is available as an online download now at www.handmark.com priced at $29.99 SRP. It will also be sold in CD format at most retail chains where these devices are sold.
