Comparison: Motorola MPx200 versus Samsung SCH-i600 December 10, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. The two currenty available in the US market Microsoft smartphones compared in one article. Which wins? Read on... The first two Windows Mobile phones are definitely pocket-friendly. The Samsung SCH-i600 (3.5 x 2.1 x .9 inches, five ounces) is about three-eight’s of an inch wider, a hair thinner, and an ounce heavier than the Motorola MPx200 (3.5 x 1.88 x 1 inches, four ounces). But with its more rounded contours (there’s no antenna), the Motorola feels a lot smaller. Both Verizon and AT&T Wireless should still be offering rebates for these handsets by the time you read this, but at just $299, the Motorola MPx200 is easily the best smart phone value on the market, especially when you consider that many competing models cost nearly twice as much. As long as you can live without a keyboard, it’s compact, full-featured, and will keep your Outlook info up-to-date all day long. The Samsung SCH-i600 has a few more features than the Motorola, a brighter screen, and more battery capacity. These benefits alone do not justify the enormous price difference between the two phones, but when you add Verizon Wireless’ faster data network to the mix, both of these Windows Mobile-powered cells are worth a serious look.
