Smartphone security mockery continues: registry-unlocking utility for Orange SPV E200, software-unlocks the Orange SPV and SPV E100 phones too December 11, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. Security? Well, if a simple program can unlock this security, so what it is the whole point of having this whole software locking? After loading the program to your Orange SPV or SPV E100 smartphone, and after launching it, the following appears on the display of your smartphone: 
The program was originally designed to registry-unlock the SPV E200 (that otherwise is normally software-unlocked), but we tested this program in SPV (it works in SPV E100 too) - after latest ROM upgrade - and it removes the software lock! In other words: software lock in SPV phones is nothing less than "parody of security" - because it can be removed by a simple program... Orange should abandon this whole concept of "software locking" of smartphones because it causes only unnecessary aggravation among users, prevents them from running of freeware applications, and is in reality not securing anything... To download this security disabling utility click here and scroll down to a post of user "situ" - you must be logged in the forum there to download it (registration is free). The direct link to this utility is here (you must be logged in for it to work). The file DisableSecurity.zip contains directory "temp" with AEConfig.exe and DisableSecurity.xml files. Copy these files to "/Temp" directory on your SPV or SPV E100 smartphone. Then there is a file "Disable Security.lnk" (a link file) that is in "StartMenu" folder in the ZIP file. You should copy it to "/IPM/Windows/Start Menu/Accessories/" (for example) and then start it from this menu position (beginning from homescreen: Programs : Accessories : Disable Security)! After running of the program you can run any code-unsigned software in your SPV or SPV E100 smartphones equipped with the latest ROM update for SPV and SPV E100 phones.
