Motorola MPx220 - the successor to MPx200 but with built-in Bluetooth and camera - is NOT a rumor, it is FOR REAL
December 12, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1.
And as a proof of this, that Motorola MPx220 is for real, not just a rumor, in a presentation prepared by Motorola for T-Mobile Germany one can spot, among others, this slide:
Some highlights from this presentation:
- Motorola MPx220 will come in the first half of year 2004
- the form of Motorola MPx220 is unknown - on the picture above you can see the text "Not Finalised - Indication Only"
- Motorola MPx220 will be equipped with Bluetooth and camera; the presence of Bluetooth is the most important because it will allow usage of such Bluetooth accessories as Bluetooth headsets and USB Bluetooth dongles and built-in Bluetooth in notebooks to use the MPx220 as a Bluetooth modem!
- in the presentation also Motorola MPx200 (old one) is mentioned with indication that T-Mobile (Germany) will be selling also MPx200
- interestingly Motorola underlines SD memory card availability for this phone (and also for MPx200) as an important feature - and it really is important, because SD cards are faster, available in bigger sizes (now: 1 GB, next year: 2 GB) and cheaper than MMC cards used in smartphones from Symbian Series 60 phones....
- please note: "1HJ" on the picture above is an abbreviation from German "erste Hälfte des Jahres" = first half of the year
