Nokia continues blatant Microsoft smartphone bashing
December 15, 2003 [General] | By anonymous 1.

Microsoft smartphone bashing fully financed by Nokia? You don´t believe it? Read on...

Editor of The Feature, employee of Nokia, twice a year is being invited to Mobius conference, where Microsoft covers all lodging and traveling costs, where it is giving gifts (including PDAs and cellphones) to various webmasters and editors, who are handpicked by Microsoft´s marketing staff. One cannot imagine worse way of spending Microsoft´s marketing money however because "The Feature" publication, continuosly writes anti-Microsoft propaganda! Just some quotes from 'The Feature' - latest Microsoft bashing story:

  • "Windows Mobile for Smartphone is OS is attractive, simple and easy to understand." This runs contrary to just about every other online review I´ve read. Most reviews have acknowledged its capabilities - especially the customizable home screen - but simple and easy to understand?
  • That the functions available on the P900 "swamp the phone´s processor. It scrambles to keep up, like a comical, out-of-shape personal assistant." I´ve spent a lot more time waiting for the Windows CE busy cursor on Windows Mobile than anything on the Symbian platform. What´s he talking about?
How the quotes above are bashing? Because in the first one he doubts the statement from the article that he quotes, doubts that MS Smartphone is easy and simple to use. Then, in second quote he is saying that in Symbian there is no "busy cursor" that blocks whole smartphone in case of Microsoft smartphone, and that, according to The Feature, appears for a long long time in MS Smartphone - what is not truth, it appears just for short time in Smartphone 2002, and in case of Smartphone 2003 it almost never appears.

To read more of the latest story from The Feature click here. Remember however: it is just one story from one editor! The Feature publishes many such anti-Microsoft stories.

There are several editors writing for The Feature, who are bashing Microsoft, who never ever say a good word about Microsoft smartphone! The Feature is a publication fully owned, financed and controlled by Nokia. On the other hand it looks like also Nokia is spending millions of Euro (30 editors!) on this "The Feature" publication in vain, because as can be seen here in Alexa (objective way to assess web traffic of web sites) - this site in fact has tiny traffic - smaller than websites of many hobbyists: just 82,231 (it´s the web traffic rank - the bigger the number, the smaller the web traffic).

Just for the record: Microsoft doesn´t practice any anti-Nokia propaganda in its publications or web sites. Microsoft plays fair with rivals.
