January 04, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1.

There is a free firmware upgrade for Motorola MPx200 available at certain places in Internet, but some people got idea to charge for this free firmware and to earn some easy money. This firmware among others has the following new features:
  • it allows you to use all 3 GSM bands (including GSM900 that is locked in MPx200 sold by AT&T Wireless)
  • it removes all operator add-ons (like mMode)
  • it adds MMS messaging (which AT&T had removed on their build)
  • it adds third party camera support (which AT&T had removed on their build)

MPx200 Firmware thread at MPx200.org.

... where you can find link to current mirror, where this firmware is located (we donīt provide direct link because if the mirror changes it gets updated in the thread there).

Please note: there is no way to come back from this update so we recommend everybody who considers to use this firmware to look through the posts in the main thread about this firmware (in the above mentioned link).
