Sprite Backup program to be released soon January 05, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. The unsigned *Beta* of Sprite Backup for Smartphone is now available. Features backup to storage card or PC, compression, encryption, and backup file management. Itīs been tested on an Motorola MPx200, Compal SC1100 w/ 2002 and 2003 ... writes Riki from Sprite Software. Shortly speaking: this program will allow you to backup and restore (!) personal and system data of your Microsoft smartphone. In this way you can either upgrade ROM of your smartphone or move your data to a new Microsoft smartphone - both without any problems. You can thus also secure your data from some unforeseen accidents... Hereīs how this program looks like:

To download this program for beta-testing purposes go to this forum: http://www.spritesoftware.com/forum/index.php ... and register. Then subscribe to the smartphonebeta "Usergroup". If you entered a valid email you will be notified when it is processed (Give it a working day or two). You will then be able to view(/post) the "Sprite Backup for Smartphone" forum (http://www.spritesoftware.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=11) in which you will find a release notes post with a download link. A version of this program for Pocket PC is already available at http://www.spritesoftware.com and costs between $US 19.95 and US 29.95 - depending on the edtion - so we can assume, that the price for a version for Microsoft Smartphone will be similar.
