Pocket PC phones and MS Smartphones at CES January 07, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1. Today 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) begins in Las Vegas (USA) and it will last until January 11. In "Microsoft Events" Microsoft itself will be presenting various products. What about Pocket PC phones and Microsoft Smartphones? Within the frame of The Digital Experience 2004 event, Microsoft will be presenting also cellphones: representatives from Microsoftīs Mobile Devices Division and Embedded Devices Group will demonstrate next-generation devices including Windows Mobile -based Pocket PCs and Smartphones, Portable Media Centers and a broad range of Windows Powered devices running Windows XP Embedded and Windows CE .NET. Donīt forget that also hardware vendors themselves will be presenting Smartphones and Pocket PC phones - not just Microsoft - so it looks like CES will be very interesting this year: we may get some totally new announcements from hardware vendors! Today Bill Gates is holding keynote address at 6:30 p.m. PST, at the Las Vegas Hilton Theater and he may also mention something interesting regarding both Microsoft powered cellphones in particular and embedded Windows in general. We have some unconfirmed rumors regarding announcements to be released during this CES in Las Vegas, but we wouldnīt like to speculate - so letīs wait.
