2 Microsoft powered cellphones among 2004 CES Innovations Awards Honorees January 09, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1. The winners in Wireless Communications category at 2004 CES trade show are: Microsoft Smartphone - Samsung i600, and Pocket PC Phone - Samsung i700. Both are working in CDMA 1x standard and provide thus wireless high speed data transmission of quality and speed exceeding this one available in GSM/GPRS. Please note: Samsung is the fastest growing brand in the world and this Korean corporation intends to overtake Nokia in cellphone industry in a couple of years. Although Samsung is platform-agnostic and makes cellphones powered by all major platforms, it is good that it also makes Microsoft powered cellphones.
To be fair we must admit, that Microsoft´s competition also won 2 awards in this category: the following 2 phones powered by Symbian also were awarded: Sony Ericsson P900 and Nokia 3660.
