With SPVUnlock 2.0 software you can now SIM unlock SPV/SPV E100 smartphones after latest ROM upgrade
January 14, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1.

After latest ROM upgrade for Orange SPV and Orange SPV e100 some people had problems with SIM unlocking of their phones (so that they could run in other than Orange network), but:
Now you can remove the simlock on your SPV/SPV E100 with the latest ROM (1.6 !!!)...

General idea of SIM locking is to allow given cellphone to use only cellular network of one operator (the one that subsidizes the phone). With SIM unlock code you can unlock the phone so that it will run in any GSM network. SIM unlocking works so that you must input special number, dependent on IMEI number of the phone, when you have a "foreign" SIM card inserted into a SIM locked cellphone.

Sometimes the unlock code must be purchased at an operator and sometimes you can just use special software for this purpose.
