Smartphone platform comparison or why Windows Mobile from Microsoft would be the best choice for PalmOne
January 29, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1.

The market for smart phones booms and already exceeded, in terms of sales, the market for PDA devices. In a couple of years most cell phones will be smart phones. Future belongs to smart phones.

Palm was once a leading producer of PDAs, then it started selling Palm OS software for PDAs to other companies (Sony being the main license taker). Lately Palm corporation divided itself into 2 companies: PalmOne producing hardware only and PalmSource producing operating systems (Palm OS). Vesey Crichton from PalmOne lately revealed, that PalmOne ponders using non-PalmOS platforms for smartphones.
